TOP 5 Restaurant in Chicago. Sunset is delicious! The Pho is incredible, we usually go with the rare angus beef which absorbs all the flavors from the best broth. The combination stir fry is so hearty with so much beef, chicken and shrimp. Make sure to get the Cevapcici spring rolls with the sauce! The service is so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We love coming here whenever we can, winter and summer.

If you are looking for phenomenal, deeply comforting pho in a fantastic setting, Sunset Phở Caffe is an absolute must-visit. The standout is undoubtedly the broth—it is incredibly rich, perfectly layered, aromatic, and clearly simmered with a lot of care. Every ingredient, from the tender cuts of meat to the crisp, fresh herbs, is top-tier. Beyond the exceptional food, the casual eatery and bar setup brings a wonderfully convivial, high-energy vibe that sets it apart from your typical noodle shop. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the entire dining experience seamless. Easily a 5-star spot that I’ll be returning to again and again!

I loved my experience at Sunset Pho. I’m a big fan of a good pho, and this one was really delicious. The broth had amazing flavor, the noodles were great, and the portion of meat was very generous. The place is also super cute, and the location is perfect, there’s so much to explore just walking around that street, which makes it a great spot for a weekend outing. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

A fusion you didn’t know you needed. Vietnamese-Jugoslavian fusion is very cool, and while the main thing is pho with some of the other half of the fusion afforded its own part of the menu, the result is a pho unafraid to handle more heat and flavor. Some pho fans may say it’s not supposed to be spicy, but having the ability to add chili-garlic and sriracha to get the heat level up has always been an option. The broth here is great, and the spicy lemongrass is a bit Thai, sure, but very well flavored. I had the sunset special and the different flavors and textures of meat permeating the broth made it such a good comforting soup. The spring rolls were also very refreshing and bright. The vibe is also fantastically retro and full of loving nods to both cultures. With the staff also running a lively, homey bar, the small space has a special communal feel. A gem in the middle of East Lakeview.

Sunset Pho Caffe is an absolute gem in Lakeview East. Super fresh, hot, flavorful beef pho. We also loved the opportunity to try Jugoslavian cuisine. Piletina Sa Zara was equally as delicious. Readily apparent that all their food is cooked with love and care. Super friendly owners who were interacting with diners on a Saturday night. We can’t wait to come back!
